Many AAPI communities in the US struggle with voter turnout, which is impacted by lack of language access and voter education. Over the course of several years, I worked with different AAPI-focused nonprofits to create mailers and educational materials to encourage community members to vote. I aimed to represent the diversity and vibrancy of AAPI communities in a way that felt inclusive, genuine, and fun.

My concept was to show a diverse group of Asians and Pacific Islanders (spanning different ethnicities, gender, ages, and abilities) who were empowered by voting, along with the word “VOTE” in different languages. The campaigned included two main print pieces (newspaper front cover, multi-lingual two-sided mailer) and social media digital assets. The style was adapted for other similar commissions by other nonprofit organizations.
